The Astros Connection

I'm an Astros Fan! But there was a time when I was an Astros' employee. When Paul and I married, the Program Director at KPRC Radio thought it was not a good idea to have a station secretary married to someone who worked at another station, so I was demoted. I didn't like being demoted so I marched back to the engineer's office and asked KPRC/Astros engineer Bob Green if there were any openings in the Astros broadcast office.  Turns out there was one because the longtime production coordinator had just adopted a baby and they hired me. How to keep this brief .... I love my apartment.  I made friends on the Pirate cruise.  I've never seen so many good restaurants in my life and I'm evaluating them for your visits. I went to church on Sunday with Episcopalians from all over, all kind and lovely to me. I drove to Jardin Botanico de Vallarta and was amazed at its size, beauty and great food.

On Friday I drove from Tarpley, did customs stuff for self and car at Nuevo Laredo.  The new Colombia crossing is a breeze, new, well designed and not busy at all.  I now have a six-month visa and so does my car.  We must both renew in March.  The toll road (cuoda) to Monterrey is so safe and easy.  I spent the night in Saltillo, which many friends have long enjoyed.  Me, not so much. Traffic was not well directed ... it was a bad time to get there.  The inexpensive hotel was adequate but sort of like Mote...
